Ministry Center

Dedicated in May 2006 the Community Ministry Center has enabled us to greatly expand ministry both to the congregation and community.  It contains 22,000 square feet of ministry space.  The upper level includes a multipurpose hall that can accommodate up to 350 people, a commercial style kitchen, the Ling Library, and the “Gathering Place.”  Sixteen classrooms, a small social room and storage areas make up the lower level.  “Noah’s Ark,” an area for preschool and kindergarten ministry is also located on the lower level with a direct entrance via a  sheltered drive through entryway.
Because of the Community Ministry Center we have been able to grow in outreach ministry to all ages.  The Community Ministry Center has given us space for after school events, coffee houses, Head Start trainings, athletic banquets, indoor basketball, pickle-ball on open gym nights, youth lock ins, bloodmobiles, etc.
Friendship Hall is available to other groups for renting.  Birthday and anniversary parties, family reunions, community dinners, etc have utilized the space.  Contact our Parish Secretary for more information regarding availability and costs.  The number is 814-445-4627.
A striking feature of the new facility is the ornate grille work over the windows in Friendship Hall.  While protecting the windows from damage, these grilles are constructed of symbols which both tell the story of the Christian faith and the history of this congregation here at Friedens.  Designed by Robin Fish and crafted by Gross Brothers Welding and Fabricating these grilles are a very meaningful addition to the Community Ministry Center.
